Everyday Blessings

We went to the store lastnight, and what did we see?
But four children dressed as shabily as can be.
We wanted to do something but didn't know what
We chewed and we pondered and came up with a 'but'
"Ah, honey let us pray for this family today."
That was really all my husband had to say
A prayer for the family is what we could do
for God hears them all, and He loves them too

So my husband and I prayed for the family of five
We counted our blessings and felt so alive
We had our hot chocolate, our hershey's syrup and each other
When we looked at the family-especially the mother
She looked so sad, dismayed and in trouble

The prayer we know somehow isn't enough
Yet God is the God who does more than enough! (Ephesians 3: 20)
